Ronan Keating admits ‘I deserve what I got’ after affair with backing dancer ruined his marriage

It was the news that stunned the country, when the seemingly rock-solid marriage of Boyzone’s golden boy Ronan Keating, was shaken by the discovery of his affair with the band’s backing dancer, Francine Cornell, two years ago.
The affair went on for seven months in 2009, ending when Ronan’s wife Yvonne, 38, found texts between her husband and Francine, 27. The Dancer claimed that the No Matter What singer had pursued her 'tirelessly', sending her endless texts from a secret mobile phone during May and June 2009.
Whilst the couple tried to work at their marriage for the sake of their children Jack, 13, Missy, 11 and Ali, 6, they weren’t able to move past his indiscretions and sadly divorced in April of this year.
In a show of remorse, Ronan, also 38, admitted to a radio show, ‘'It’s been a tough couple of years – I deserve what I got.’
He went on to say that he is trying to remain philosophical about how his life has turned out.

The singer and his wife remain on good terms for the sake of their children, with Yvonne reportedly dating camera man John Conroy, whom she met on the set of her daughter Missy’s first film.
Ronan spoke proudly about his eldest daughter following in his show business footsteps, revealing, ‘My 11-year-old daughter, Missy made a film this year, which is coming out in February; a horror movie called Dark Touch’.
He did not comment on his ex-wife’s new relationship, and is now spending a large amount of time in Australia, where he is filming the Australian X-Factor alongside Mel B.
The show seems to be doing better down-under than in Britain (where figures hit an all time low this last Saturday) with Ronan exclaiming, 'We had our first show last night and we blew the ratings with 2.3million which is the biggest we have ever had. We are number one show down there so that’s amazing, very excited to go back down.'
