Russell Brand: 'I have nothing but love for Katy'

Two days after the finalisation of his divorce, Russell Brand has spoken candidly about his split with Katy Perry saying he’s got ‘nothing but love for her.’
Citing irreconcilable differences when he filed for divorce from megastar Katy Perry last December, there’s been a great deal of speculation about what caused the split.
In a revealing interview with a radio station yesterday, the comedian opened up about his feelings for the pop singer.
He said: “[Before] we got married, I just thought, “I’ve got to marry her, I love her so much.” And then we got married and I thought, “OK, this isn’t really working out.
“I loved her so much, it just seemed like the sensible thing to do [when we got married] ... I just loved her so much.”
With busy and conflicting schedules, Russell went on to say it was hard to see much of each other: “I was really, really in love with her, but it was difficult to see each other ... We were together when it was right to be together, and when it wasn't we worked it out.”
He also admitted he had been keen to start a family with his wife:
“I was really into the idea of marriage and having children,” he said.
When probed to give more details on the subject, Russell spoke of his fears that his ex-wife may hear the interview and be huty.
“I don't want anything to hurt her,” he said. “She's younger than me, she's a young woman and she's beautiful and she's sensitive and I care about her deeply ... I don't want to be too glib.”
The ‘Brand X’ star insisted there are no bad feelings between him and Katy and explained: “It was a lovely relationship. It mostly didn't work for practical reasons and we went our separate ways.
“We did work it out, she's happy, I'm happy.”
In the interview Russell also confirmed that he is currently dating Isabella Brewster, the younger sister of Fast & Furious actress Jordana, and ex-girlfriend of Bradley Cooper.
“Some things in the newspaper aren't true ... that's true, actually,” he said.
But it doesn’t seem like he will be in a rush to settle down again just yet when he said he is ‘just kind of enjoying the freedom’ of living the single life again.
