Sam Attwater

Sam Attwater crowned DOI winner

Monday 28 March 2011

It's the final we've all been waiting for! Dancing On Ice has crowned it's winner and it's the wonderful Samm Attwater.

After one of the tightest grand finals the show has ever seen, the former Eastenders actor won the public's hearts with his 'passionate' version of show star's Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean's Bolero. Sam has been the bookies favourite from day one, always consistantly good.

Despite being strapped up with a rib injury, Same received his best ever score of 29.5 after skating to Footloose.

After being crowned the winner, he gushed: 'It's been an amazing experience and I feel like the luckiest person alive. I'm going to continue skating 100%.'

'I've lived breathed and ate ice skating for the past six, seven months. I couldn't have asked for a better partner.

'I've had the time of my life. I've made a friend for life and I wouldn't be here now if it wasn't for Brianne.'

Chloe Madeley came third after skating routines to Holly Valance's Kiss Kiss and (I've Had) The Time Of My Life from Dirty Dancing. Although she didn't get to skate the Bolero, she was obviously still over the mooon.

'I'm so thrilled we got to the final, I'm on cloud nine. I've loved being here. At least you get to see Michael do his Bolero on the tour as it is a treat.'

Laura meanwhile had come second despite landing the only set of perfect 10s on the whole series this year.

She said: 'As I said before, it's been a rollercoaster, it doesn't matter where you are on the leaderboard it's all up to the people at home.'

Ah! Well done Sam, very well deserved!
