Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds split

Hollywood’s sexiest couple Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds (literally, he was voted sexiest man alive this year while Scarlett was voted GQ's Babe of the Year) have spilt after 2 years of marriage and U.S reports are saying that Scarlett was the one who initiated the break-up.
The couple have released a statement saying: 'After long and careful consideration on both our parts, we've decided to end our marriage.
‘We entered our relationship with love and it's with love and kindness we leave it. While privacy isn't expected, it's certainly appreciated.'
Ryan, 34, and Scarlett got engaged in May 2008 and were married in an intimate ceremony in Vancouver, Canada, that September.
According to a Us weekly magazine source, the stress of being apart so much was too much for Scarlett to take, and she ended the marriage two weeks ago.
It has been alleged that this split was a long time coming. A source told the American magazine that Scarlett, 26, and Ryan, 34, actually went their separate ways six months ago.
The source said: 'They are being very civil about it. The big problem with their relationship is the distance. They spent a lot of time apart when they are working... She's been unhappy for a while.'
Talking recently to Glamour magazine Scarlett said: ‘I don't profess to know anything about marriage that anybody else doesn't know, or how to make it right.'
While Ryan Reynolds also told GQ magazine that things had a changed since they got married.
He said: ‘I'm a little more guarded, I think. I'm a little bit more wary of having my relationship turning into a soap opera.'
Scarlett started dating Canadian actor Reynolds in Spring 2007 - shortly after he ended his two year engagement to singer/songwriter Alanis Morissette.
She dated her Black Dahlia co-star Josh Hartnett for about two years until the end of 2006, with Hartnett citing their busy lifestyles as the reason behind their split.
Pre-Christmas break up announcements seem to be all the rage at the moment with Liz Hurley and Shane Warne both announcing the end of the their marriages. Then Vanessa Hudgens, 21, and Zac Efron, 23, announced they were splitting, followed shortly be Anna Friel and David Thewlis ended their nine year relationship.
There must be something in the water!
