Simon's 'sorry' about X Factor Fiasco
Tuesday 07 June 2011
Simon Cowell has made a very public, heartfelt apology to Cheryl Cole after dashing her American dreams. The X Factor judge has claimed he is, ‘not a monster,’ and feels bad about the whole fiasco.
Although the official US show’s line up has finally been revealed, with Nicole Scherzinger as Cheryl’s replacement; this hasn’t stopped televisions Mr. Nasty from feeling bad about the way things turned out.
With no official word from Simon until now, the multi-millionaire has broken his silence about the situation. Cowell has said that he felt the pop star was ‘uncomfortable’ whilst filming the US auditions and felt her personal life was heavily to blame. Last year seemed to be Cheryl’s toughest yet, with contracting Malaria and divorcing love rat husband, Ashley Cole, to say she was stressed is an understatement.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Simon has said he has spoken to Miss Cole, admitting he received a text saying she felt, ‘let down’ by him. Simon goes on to say: ‘A hundred per cent I have to take full responsibility, because I do have a lot of sway.’
‘I am sorry this has caused so much anguish and embarrassment, but I stand by what I believe was the right intention. And I would say that to her face right now.’
Last week Simon and Fox gave Cole an olive branch, with an offer of her job back, as she is still tied to her contract. Cowell offered her double her salary to return to UK X Factor, of which she refused, and has not been seen out in public since.
With Cheryl being replaced by Nicole and Tulisa it is easy to see how she wants to remain out of the public eye. But knowing Cheryl she will probably come back ten times better and stronger than ever before, and we cannot wait!

I've lost a lot of respect for Simon swooping so low as to apologise to Cole. She's up her own backside. I wonder if there is something going on between them other than the XFactor. They always seemed a bit too cosy together.

Simon Cowell is a business man, if he felt that Cheryl wasnt strong enough it is then his business on the line. Im sure he didn't get to where he is today by being sympathetic towards poor staff! If I wasn't performing in my role and it effected the business that i work for, would anyone feel sympatheitc to me if i lost my job! Mind you if I had a million pound contract to help me through it I wouldn't care. Boo hoo Cheryl but sorry there are more important things going on in the world!!
