Tara: My nose job makes me want to date again
Friday 15 July 2011
Tara Palmer Tompkinson used to have a drug addiction, which was said to have cost her a staggering £400 a day. Tara’s septum collapsed and she was in need of corrective surgery, her first operation in 2006 cost her £6,000 but it didn’t last as she failed to go to her follow up appointments.
The 39-year-old socialite just had her septum rebuilt in a procedure with a Harley Street doctor, using cartilage from one of her ribs.
The model showed off her nose for the first time in her shoot for She magazine. In her interview she said: “I can’t tell you how wonderful I feel- like a different person. Before, I didn’t want to go out, I didn’t want to date. And now I want to go out, I want to date again. I feel 10 years younger. Someone said to me, ‘you must look in the mirror’, but I never do because I’m too scared that my lovely nose will have gone away again.”
Tara talks in the interview about how even though it was a decade ago she last did drugs she is still ashamed, she said: “drugs are dirty. They scare me; they’re something I don’t want to be associated with and I’ve tried my best to stay away from them.”
“They were crazy days and I would be a liar if I said I totally regretted them. But I absolutely regret the after-effects. I don’t feel I was allowed to move on. Twelve years ago I had little confidence, I was young and just wanted to keep up.”
It seems Tara really has turned her life around she also added: “Now over the last 10 years without them, I’ve managed to build up the bricks towards a healthy self-esteem.”
Best of luck to you Tara we do hope you look after that nose of yours this time!
