Entertainment Editor Katie Banks went down to the Spice Girls' Viva Forever launch and found out if they're all still friends 18 years on!
The Spice Girls are back everyone, we can all breathe a sigh of relief. I went down to London's Renaissance Hotel and the girls - Emma Bunton, Mel C, Victoria Beckham, Mel b and Geri Halliwell - were all very excited about launching their new musical Viva Forever with Mamma Mia producer Judy Craymer and comedian Jennifer Saunders.
Emma was the first to pipe up: "We worked with Judy who's an amazing producer who was at the top of our list right at the start. We were so excited when she said she would get involved. Jennifer knows us more than most people – she’s been around with us for years. Girl power!"
And Geri couldn't stop gushing about how close the girls are.
She said: "These girls are amazing, brilliant and kind. Everytime I see them, and I don’t see them that often, they’re collectively lovely. I’m really grateful to know them and have great friends like this…"
But Mel C couldn't resist chipping in, referring to the fact that Geri quit the band in 1998 before being allowed to return for the reunion tour in 2006: "She’s only saying that because she left!"
Geri, as per usual, got the last word. She replied: "Yes, but they took me back! That says a lot about them. They’re forgiving!"
