Victoria Beckham admits she loves 50 shades of Grey but refuses to discuss it with her mum

She famously reported she’d never read a book in her life, but looks like popstar turned fashion designer, Victoria Beckham, has made an exception for 50 Shades of Grey – even buying a copy for her own mum.
The mother-of-four confessed she’s already onto the second installment of the E L James’ steamy trilogy, Fifty Shades Darker, but refuses to discuss the erotic novel with her mum, Jackie Adams.
‘Everytime she tries to engage in conversation about it, I kind of dodge the subject’, she told an American magazine.
‘I don’t really want to talk to my mother about S&M.’
Other celebrity fans who have expressed their love for the novel are Angelina Jolie, Kristen Stewart, Kim Kardashian and most surprisingly, Channing Tatum.
Victoria, 38, married to footballer David Beckham, posed in various 50 Shades-style shots for the magazine as well as having the honour of editing the September issue.
She said: ‘It’s been exciting for me to see my ideas come to life, from type colours to photo selection to casting.’
The project must have been an exciting change from her day job of designing her famous VB collection. She even opened up to say it is this day job that prevents her from cracking a smile for photographers.
She said: ‘I actually used to smile a lot in pictures. I think I only stopped smiling when I got into fashion.
Laughing, she added: ‘Fashion stole my smile! I’ve created this person. And I’m not saying that’s not me, but I wouldn’t say that’s the whole me. It’s an armour that goes up.’
So with smiling on the list of fashion no’s, what else did the fashion designer she say she wouldn’t allow?
‘Boat shoes (unless of course you’re a designer Alber Elbaz or on a boat!), Bermuda shorts, nose rings, Crocs and American tan tights.’
Something the yummy mummy would allow though, is the possibility of having another child to add to her brood which already includes Brooklyn, 13, Romeo, nine, Cruz, seven and 12-month old Harper. David even famously claimed he would love to have enough kids for an entire football team.
‘I’d never say never about another baby. It’s a juggling act – a career, family, a husband who’s busy. But I’d never say never,’ she said.
When asked where she would see herself in five years, she said: 'I'd like everybody to be healthy and happy. I'd like to be growing the business at a steady pace, and to be making more women feel empowered, beautiful, and confident.’
