'WAG life is tough', says footie girlfriend
Thursday 28 January 2010
The girlfriend of Man City star Stephen Ireland has spoken out in defence of the infamous WAGs after she got slated for her tasteless car - a £264,000 red and white Bentley she got given for her birthday.
Stephanie Lawlor, who has an 18-months-old son with Stephen and helps to look after his two kids from a previous relationship, claims that the extravagant footballer lifestyle and sky-high premier league salaries don't mean that the players' other halves have an 'easy life'.
She said: 'They say if you're a WAG you do nothing or just go shopping all the time and that's not the case at all. My day starts at 7am doing the school runs. We don't have a nanny so there are three children to look after.'
She described the hype around the WAGs as 'a bit ridiculous' and claims that despite the luxury lifestyle some of the more high-profile footie girls like to flaunt, WAG-life is not all about hitting the shops.
'When people see the cars and house they say you have an easy life, but any mother of three young kids will know that in itself is not an easy job — money doesn't change that', the 24-year-old added.

You're right, luv, it just means you do the school run in designer heels...
Do you agree with Stephanie? Are WAGs a bit hard done by the public?

Hard is having 2 children, doing the school runs etc and having to work a 37 hour week and not having enough money at the end of the month to pay the bills. I am not bitter (much) but please think before you speak in these hard hard times. I wonder if she says this to provoke a reaction to get more publicity!!

ye course it must be hard with an income like that and a house, car, wardrobe, holidays and a social life most people can only dream of, try doing all that and more on minimum wage then you might realise what having it tough means. Like Haitch30 said people may not begrudge others for having money and yes we all know that it may not bring you happiness but it sure is one less thing to worry about when the bills come in, if anything she should feel blessed and privaliged for what she has and think of all the less fortunate families who struggle everyday to make ends meet.
