Wimbledon final draws audience A-list audience

The sun may have been absent but that didn’t stop the stars coming out in force to cheer on Andy Murray in the Wimbledon final on Sunday.
Cheers and wolf whistles greeted the Middleton sisters who entered the Royal Box looking typically glamorous and stylish. Kate wore a tweed jacket over a crepe shift dress, both from Joseph. Sister Pippa, chose a dress from Project D, Dannii Minogue’s label.

The UK’s second Royal family, the Beckhams, also made an appearance with Posh failing to raise a smile yet looking stunning in a deep green dress from her own collection.

The exciting final, which saw Murray lose to Roger Federer, was also watched by The Saturdays’ Rochelle Wiseman and fiancée, Marvin Humes.

The large number of celebrities in the audience attracted a wave of criticism on twitter, particularly from those who had camped for days to watch on the rain soaked Henman Hill.

Author Annabel Pitcher said: ‘Hate how celebrities waltz into Wimbledon. Bet Posh Spice didn’t have to camp to gain admission.’
And TV producer Douglas McNeil added: ‘Are there any normal punters at this final or is it all sports stars, ex-tennis players, pop stars and Posh Spice?’
