Closer gossips with the Kardashian klan
Tuesday 13 November 2012
They’ve inspired the women of Britain to embrace their curves – and now Kim, Kourtney and Khloe tell us about their sexy style, dressing for their shape and the hotly anticipated Kardashian Kollection

Kim
“Everyone has different body shapes and, for me, I know that my waist is smaller. So I like to wear high-waisted pieces, or add belts to accentuate my figure. I think everyone has to know their body type and figure out which parts you really want to show off or hide.
“I do struggle to find clothes to fit because my legs are skinny, but my butt’s bigger, and my waist is little – so I need to have a lot of things tailored. We’ve tried to give everything in our range a tailored-fit feel so that you won’t have the same problem.

Kim says her mum, Kris, taught her how to dress for her body
“My mum, Kris Jenner, really taught me how to dress proportionately for my body. If she wasn’t feeling confident about her arms, she’d cover them up with a little jacket.
“I’m a big fan of singer Rita Ora, who’s dating our brother Rob – she has amazing style. It would be great to see her in our designs. Aside from the fashion range, my personal life is going great. Children aren’t on the agenda right now, but if they were, I’d like a boy first – though one of each would be good.”
Kourtney
“I’m not as good at dressing my body as Kim and Khloe are. I’ll wear the craziest things and Kim will say: ‘You need to not wear that again!’
“I know knee-length items just don’t look good on me. Being petite, I should either wear long or short hemlines. I like to try trendy things without worrying about how it looks. It might not be the most flattering, but it’s still fun to try.
“I’m not down with maternity clothes, so it’s more challenging to dress your bump – but fun. [Kourtney is mum to Mason, two, and Penelope, four months, with boyfriend Scott Disick.]

Kourtney says she loved wearing long dresses to when pregnant
I love my body when I’m pregnant, especially the in-between phase before you have water retention at the very end – that’s when every little vein shows on your legs and it’s all about wearing long dresses! But before that, I love wearing bikinis when pregnant – it’s such a beautiful time for a woman.
“I think my mum, Kris, has really infused that sense of fashion in our blood. I used to steal all of her handbags and ’80s Chanel jewellery when I was younger – in fact I still do! I just borrowed some of her fabulous one-piece swimsuits.
“I grew up with a mum who’s always dressed up and ‘put together’ no matter what. I want to be that kind of mum, too.”
Khloe
“Over the years, I feel I’ve really developed a sense of what suits my figure and what doesn’t. A bodycon dress accentuates my curvy frame and I like wearing blouses. I avoid really baggy clothes that give me no shape. But if I do want to wear something a little looser, I’ll always pair it with a belt.

Khloe says her legs are the best part of her body
“I just can’t get enough of leopard print. That’s something my sisters and I all seem to agree on! I love the ’50s Mad Men look. It’s classy and sexy all at the same time. Christina Hendricks is so beautiful and dresses so well for her amazing figure. But Marilyn Monroe is my style icon – a classic beauty with a hint of naughtiness.
“I love my long hair, I really don’t think I could ever have it chopped it off. Some women look so incredible with a pixie-crop cut, but I just don’t think it would suit me. I can already imagine the headlines!
“My legs are the best part of my body – I love that I have height on my side. I really mix up my wardrobe and am not afraid to show a little arm, either!
I wouldn’t change anything about my figure. You have to work with what you’ve got.”
