Singer and X Factor Judge Nicole Scherzinger is known for her sultry style and sexy body – and has also been known to take a few risks when it comes to her fashion choices. It may come as a surprise then, that one of her biggest fashion inspirations is singer Adele, who favours a ’50s style and is often seen donning LBDs.

Talking about her style inspiration in an exclusive interview with online dress retailer Little Black Dress, she reveals she’s inspired by girls who have killer curves and who know how to dress them on the red carpet, saying: “I’m very inspired by my music and other artists in the industry, such as Beyoncé, J-Lo and Adele.
“All of those ladies have fabulous bodies and definitely know their way around a little black dress. I have always admired Marilyn Monroe, too – I think she looked fabulous whatever she wore as she knew her assets and how to best show them off. And I also love Victoria Beckham’s style and think her dresses are amazing.”

And 34-year-old Nicole says her wardrobe staple is the LBD, saying: “In the evening, I love to look sexy but ladylike and find that a little black dress is a great example. And it can mean so many things – I guess it depends what you accessorise it with. You can have an LBD with boots and a leather jacket for a gig, or you can wear it with a clutch bag and killer heels for a night out. Whatever you wear your LBD with, remember the one thing you need to look fabulous is confidence.”
However, Nicole stresses that it’s essential to dress for your body type, adding: “It takes time to really understand your body shape and it has taken me years to know what I can and can’t pull off. I love a dress that is fitted, classy, sexy and feminine.
“My collar-bones are my favourite part of my body – you will often see me wearing dresses that are open across the top. I think shoulders are sexier than cleavage.
“I don’t like my thighs, the back of my legs or my chubby knees – I never have. I wear clothes that show my legs in pictures and videos, but not often when I’m appearing live.”
