Premieres, record-breakers, and Joe Swash
Wednesday 21 September 2011
Hi all, Amy here. It’s been a little while, so I’ll fill you in on what I was up to last week too!
First up was the UKTV showcase in the posh St Pancras Rennaissance Hotel, where they previewed loads of brilliant TV shows and fed us champagne. Being slightly obsessed with both food and funny people, I was really excited to see a show about the Roux family (famous chefs) will be on Good Food early next year, and we were treated to a bit of stand up from the lovely Jo Brand, who will have a new show on Dave. Keep an eye on the UKTV schedules.
Carrying on the telly vibe, I went to meet ex-EastEnder and I’m A Celeb presenter Joe Swash to chat about his new show Minute To Win It (presented by Cadbury Spots v Stripes, Tuesdays, 8pm, ITV2 in case you were wondering).
He told me he and fellow team captain Caroline Flack are super competitive, and hinted they had a bet throughout the series that didn’t involve money. Slave for a day perhaps? Maybe we’ll see Caroline leading Joe through the streets of London on a lead.
He also revealed Olly Murs might have his work cut out presenting with Caroline on the Xtra Factor, telling me: “I didn’t give Olly any warnings about Caroline – he’ll work her out for himself, she don’t take no prisoners! If she’s not happy with something she’ll tell him!” Careful, Olly!
Click on the vids below to see me beat Joe to a pulp (not literally) during a ping-pong Minute To Win It game. I didn’t do so well on the pencil game, but lets gloss over that…
I also had a high-speed chat with excitable Texan songstress Kelly Clarkson this week, which you’ll see in an upcoming issue of Closer. She’s been in the public eye for ten years since winning the first ever American Idol, so there was a lot to chat about.
In other news, our colleague Victoria went along to the Real Steel premiere and drooled over Hugh Jackman. Some TOWIE turned up too, but sulky Lauren Goodger refused to speak to waiting press. Perhaps because her arch rival Lucy Mecklenburgh was also there and happily chatting away to journalists? Oooh.
Anyway, over and out for now. Have a lovely weekend!
