  1. Don’t hoover up your children’s leftovers – a few nibbles soon adds up to a lot of calories

  2. Remove all junk food from your cupboards

  3. Freeze fruit smoothies to make ice lollies the taste great and the kids will love them

  4. Look for healthier alternatives to white sugar – I buy gingerbead men that have been sweetened with fruit sugar

  5. For special occasions, make healthier versions of your favourite treats. I make a delicious banana cake, using wholemeal flour, yoghurt and honey.
