Sarah Jessica Parker

Oscar dresses

Monday 08 March 2010

As every year, fashion-lovers and gossips worldwide were craning their necks to see what Hollywood's finest are wearing on the red carpet before the highly prestigious Academy Awards had even begun.

Really, we think they should introduce a new category for Best Oscar Outfit!

Here are the girls who 'done good':

Sarah Jessica Parker once more proved her style icon credentials, looking radiant in an unsual Chanel Couture dress as she presented the costume design award with former Gucci designer Tom Ford. The cream colour suited her skin tone perfectly and we love the silver embellishment!

Jennifer Lopez wowed onlookers with her unusual choice of a rather futuristic looking gown, but we think she pulled it off. She shimmered on the arm of hubby Marc Anthony in an elaborate Armani Prive frock but unfortunately, Mamma Mia star Amanda Seyfried turned up in an incredibly similar dress from the same collection!

Mettallics were a major theme at the 82nd Academy Awards as Hollywood royalty like Best actress winner Sandra Bullock, Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz chose to stun the crowds in silver and golden hues.

Blonde bombshell Cameron, who looked as glowing and toned as ever, went all out by showing off not one but two dazzling creations.

The actress chose a sequinned Oscar de la Renta Gown with Butterfly detailing for her red carpet arrival, but partied the night away in a much more dancefloor-friendly zipped mini dress. There's definitely something about Cameron!

Nicole Ritchie had been off the celebrity radar for a while but made a stunning return in a full length metallic Reem Acra gown after a promotional trip to London and Paris to promote her fashion label, House of Harlow 1960.

The 28-year-old looked every inch the yummy mummy in the black sequinned sparkler, even if it had a hint of Star Trek about it. Nicole Ritchie

And then there was Kelly Osbourne...

Her quirky blue rinse hair turned into full-blown lavender, the 25-year-old combined the novelty hair colour with a pink feathered dress...

We think her look was inspired by the glamour of the 1920’s, and while the dress showed off her incredible new figure to perfection, all we can think of when we look at her is Dame Edna... no offense to either!

Read what Kelly herself thinks of her unusal look in tomorrow's Closer magazine!
