Lynsey de Paul has died at the age of 64 following a suspected brain haemorrhage.

Her niece, Olivia Rubin told The Times that Lynsey’s death was "completely unexpected".

Olivia added: "She was a vegetarian, she didn't smoke, she didn't drink - she was amazing, in fact."

The singer - who wrote many of her own songs - represented the UK at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1977, singing hit song Rock Bottom.

She came second in the competition.

Lynsey later went on to appear in Celebrity Come Dine With Me alongside MC Harvey and Tamara Beckwith.

Celebrities such as Bonnie Langford and Kim Wilde have flocked to Twitter to pay their respects to Lynsey.
